If you have a Pokémon fan in your family (or you are one yourself), you probably wondered about Pokémon-themed foods and recipes. Unfortunately, not all of us could create such masterpieces using our imaginations. No fret, we’re in luck, as we can use a Pokémon cookbook – yes these do exist! So, if your children are asking for Pokémon cookies or even a Pikachu birthday cake, not all is lost. Let’s not waste any time and take a look at what Pokémon cookbooks we can find on Amazon.

The Pokémon Cookbook: Easy & Fun Recipes
“The Pokémon Cookbook: Easy & Fun Recipes” is the first book that came up in my Amazon search. It’s got a fun book cover – definitely caught my eye: who wouldn’t stop scrolling at a picture of a Pikachu cookie. But, hey, as they say – don’t judge a book by its cover, right?
A little bit about the book:
- Meant for children (grades 3-6, 8 – 11 year-olds). That said, I feel like all of us will learn something from it. Also, it’s advised to ask for adult/parents’ help when cooking and cutting.
- Described as “a serious guide with practical lessons on nutrition and cooking skills”, such as moulding the food into Pokémon character shapes.
- It says that it contains 35 fun and easy Pokémon cookbook recipes, such as “Pikachu ramen”, “mashed Meowth potatoes”, or “Pokéball sushi rolls”.
These recipes should be great for Pokémon party food ideas, but could also be used as fun lunchbox food. The book reviews: at the time of writing this blog post, 76% gave 5 stars to this book! The potential negative is that some ingredients required for these recipes are non-standard or more Asian-specific. And as I feel like I’ll soon be getting requests for Pokémon-themed foods, too, I will be adding this Pokémon recipe book to my wishlist.
If I don’t fail miserably in trying to make something out of this book, I’ll add a picture of my masterpiece here. Stay tuned!
My Pokémon Cookbook Gift Set: Delicious Recipes Inspired by Pikachu and Friends
Currently, “My Pokémon Cookbook Gift Set: Delicious Recipes Inspired by Pikachu and Friends” is available for pre-order. But despite that, I really wanted to mention it. If you have a birthday coming up or trying to buy Christmas gifts in advance, this should be a perfect one for any Pokémon fan.
This gift set includes a Pokémon-inspired cookbook and an exclusive Pokémon apron, great for all Pokémon fans of all ages. Regarding the recipes, it looks like all Pokémon trainers will be inspired.
That said, as this Pokémon gift set is only available for pre-order, there aren’t any reviews or feedback available yet.
A little bit more about this gift set:
- 40+ recipes from every region, including Galar.
- Dishes inspired by our favourite Pokémons such as Pikachu, Charizard or Umbreon.
- This Pokémon cookbook should be full of beautiful photos of finished dishes (a definite plus!).
- It should be meant for trainers/chefs of every skill level: the cookbook will include step-by-step directions.
I will keep an eye out for this Pokémon recipe book (and yes, the apron too)!
It looks like you can also pre-order the “My Pokémon Cookbook: Delicious Recipes Inspired by Pikachu and Friends” separately (not as a gift set). You can find some example recipes on the Amazon listing (the spicy Charizard arrabbiata or Gengar yoghurt bowl) to give you some ideas on what’s inside.
Pokémon Cookbook: Fun and Creative Pokémon Ideas
This Pokémon cookbook has a cheaper price tag. Naturally, you won’t find as many recipes or photos there as you would in the previously mentioned books.
If you’re looking for Pokémon dessert ideas, it seems like this Pokémon cookbook has some interesting recipes.
Find Pokémon-themed ideas such as Rice Krispie treats, sugar cookies, Pokémon cupcakes, Pikachu-inspired cupcakes, Pokéball Oreos and more.
I have to mention that this book has mixed reviews, with many reviewers complaining about picture quality and measurements being American, so maybe not the best fit for the UK audience.
Plan B: If All Else Fails
It’s always a good idea to have a fallback option. If, for some reason, the cooking fails, the day can still be saved.
Pikachu-shaped Moulds
You can get some silicone Pikachu shaped moulds (Freezer safe, Oven-safe, Microwave Safe, Dishwasher safe) such as this one.
Moulds to the rescue! Silicone moulds usually offer a non-stick surface which is great.
Pokémon Waffle Maker
Make Pikachu Waffles. Amazing! Who doesn’t like waffles? And if they’re Pikachu waffles, that’s even better.
So, if cooking from cookbooks fails, you can rely on a waffle maker to save the day. It’s also a great gift idea for a Pokémon or Pikachu fan. I’d appreciate such a gift for sure (hint hint).
Pokémon Bowls
Eating from Pokémon bowls could also work great (sometimes it’s not the food that makes the kids finish their plates, but the plates and bowls themselves!).
There’s a selection of Pikachu, Pokéball and Snorlax bowls for sale, which come with chopsticks. Perfect for Pokémon fans (and also are great Christmas or Birthday gift ideas).
Pokémon Slow Cooker
I’ve also found a Pokémon slow cooker – I had never imagined such existed!
This particular one has a 7-quart pot, which serves up to 6 people. There’s a smaller one – a 2-quart one available too. What a fantastic way to prepare family meals, right?
Enjoy Pokémon-themed Cooking
I hope you’ll find some interesting (and manageable) recipes in the Pokémon cookbooks. When I try these out, I’ll share some pictures of my creations (hopefully, I won’t fail miserably, but hey, it’s the effort that counts, right?), so please share yours with me too!
And if you found other Pokémon cookbooks that you liked, please leave a comment below so I can check them out.
